obviuously its completely up to you Carla because its your forum, but it will be very sad if you do decide to close it, but being admins of these forums are hard work and take a lot of time. I had the same problem with footballers kids.

You could ask some members to take the forum over instead of closing it down completely, that way your always be able to return if you ever felt like it.

But it is your choice and you have done Very! well with the forum.

LET'S FINISH THIS SEASON BY PICKING UP ALL THE REMAINING POINTS

It's the last home game of the season today and one we are determined to win because we will be giving everything here and at Everton next week to secure second place. After last week's disappointment, we want to win our remaining games and make sure we finish the season in as strong a position as possible.

Last week's result at Old Trafford hurt us all, but what gives me great belief for next year is the form and commitment we showed in the lead-up to that game to get ourselves back to where we are in the league.

The run we went on showed the determination and passion we have in this squad but, in the end, we gave ourselves a lot to do when we had a poor run of form earlier in the season.

On behalf of all my team-mates, I would like to say a huge thank you, once again, to all you supporters and to wish you and your families a great summer. You have been magnificent this season, home and away.

I did a live phone-in for Chelsea TV on Wednesday and it was great to speak to those of you who called in. The players would like to give our thanks to all the staff as well, both at Stamford Bridge and at the training ground. Thanks for your support throughout the season - everyone involved at this club does a great job and we all really appreciate it.

I'd also like to mention Jason Griffin and the ground staff because this season the pitch has been the best I've seen since playing here.

The previous home game, against Spurs, was my 500th for Chelsea and I can't tell you how proud it makes armband out onto the pitch for game number 500 was just a dream when I was in the youth team here and now it has become a reality. But I want to reach many more milestones with this club, to keep on leading the team out and lift more and more silverware.

We will be walking around the pitch for a lap of appreciation after today's game and it'll be great to say a proper thanks to you all.

Come on the Chels!

WE SET A TARGET OF WINNING THESE HOME GAMES - SO LET'S DO IT

Today is a massive London derby for both players and fans. With us playing the day before Arsenal and Manchester United, it gives us the chance to move within three points of Man United before their big game.

And, if anyone can beat them, Arsenal can do so tomorrow.

We can only do our bit and keep picking up points, which so far we've done. We have been on a great run of form, picked up the right results at the right time and managed to cut the gap. A win for us today could yet put a swing in this title race.

Last weekend's game against West Ham was a typical, hard-fought derby. There was a lot of attacking football and the desire of everyone on the pitch was there for all to see from the first minute to the last.

Congratulations to Nando on getting his first Chelsea goal - I'm sure there will be many more to come. It was a great relief for him and the reaction from the fans and the players said it all.

There was the type of atmosphere I haven't seen for a long time and it's great for him to know he's got the support of everyone.

I want to mention Didi as well, who has been brilliant these last few weeks, while Flo's got his shooting boots back on at just the right time.

Sala has come in and given us something different when we need it and Nico, as ever, is a real danger to teams with his movement and passing.

Whoever plays is stepping up to the mark at the moment and, for us to have a chance, we need those big guys always ready, which they have been.

We have an all round togetherness and fighting spirit here that is second to none - and I'm talking about the players, the coaches, the staff and the supporters, who have always been behind us. That will always set this club apart and, along with the quality we have in this squad, that is why we will continue to compete right until the end of the season.

I went to play golf with Paul Clement at Cuddington two weeks ago and there was a man in the clubhouse called Steve Goodfellow who had motor neurone disease.

His illness meant that he was only able to communicate through a computer that he operated with his eyes, but he wanted to say something to me. The message came up on the screen, saying: "There's only one Chelsea and England captain."

That was an unbelievably emotional moment, it really moved me and touched my heart. I have since heard that Steve has passed away and I want to offer my sincerest condolences to his friends and family.

He used to come to every game at Stamford Bridge in the West Stand and meeting him showed me once again how much this club means to people. It was so special to see what he had said and those moments spur me on as a player to want to win everything we can for our supporters.

Before the Birmingham match 10 days ago, we looked at this run of three home games and said: "Let's win them all." This evening, we've got the chance to make sure we achieve that.

Come on the Chels!

GREAT PERFORMANCES PAYING OFF AS WE MOVE UP TO SECOND

This is the first of two home London derbies on consecutive weekends. This afternoon's game is always a massive one for the supporters, but it's also a big game for both teams.

West Ham are looking to move away from the bottom three, while we want to consolidate our position above Arsenal and continue to put pressure on Manchester United above us.

Birmingham on Wednesday was a great result for us, with a good performance to go with it, particularly in the first half.

We wanted to carry on where we had left off against West Brom and we did that. We got an early goal, which always makes the game easier, and continued to attack from there. We demonstrated some excellent movement throughout the game, which showed in Flo's arrival in the box at the right time for both of his goals. And what a goal by Sala for our second!

By the end, we could have scored more goals but, with Arsenal and Man United both drawing, we are now in a much stronger position. It's vitally important that we don't let the performance level drop off at all because we will need to keep winning games right until the end if we're to stand a chance of challenging for the title.

It was also brilliant to see Ryan Bertrand get on for his first-team debut here. He's worked really hard since he returned to the club from his loan at Nottingham Forest during the first half of the season. Ryan's actually had five loan spells since 2006, so he has picked up a lot of first-team experience in the Football League, particularly at Championship level. He's also a regular for England at Under-21s level. So, he was well prepared for the step up to the first team and he put in a great ball for Flo to score our third goal.

This is the second of three straight home fixtures for us and I said in Wednesday's programme that we were going all-out to win them all. We've got the first of those victories, now let's keep it going this afternoon and take our form forward into the run-in.

Come on the Chels!

Awwwww!!!
Hes right though like we have said before they are taking the right p*** out of him! Not only with what he pointed out about but also, Fabio wants him to be the loud leader type in the changing room! Its a mick take, and hes obv hurt by that!

That bit made me laugh: You know,’ he adds, ‘I’m quite soft and gentle away from football. People who don’t know me, old ladies in the supermarket, often say they thought I would be more aggressive. They’re surprised if I’m nice. I don’t know what they think I’m going to do. Hit them with a two-footed tackle in the fruit and veg aisle, maybe.’

view post Posted: 12/11/2010, 20:39 Chelsea star John Terry is 'stunned' after his father is attacked by rival football fans - Family

The father of Chelsea skipper John Terry is recovering after he was attacked by football fans at a London Underground station last weekend.

Ted Terry, 56, suffered a serious head wound in the incident at Upminster Station on Saturday evening, where he was targeted by Tottenham Hotspur supporters returning from their team's 4-2 defeat at Bolton.

According to reports, his attacker - who had a blue and white scarf wrapped round his hand - pushed Mr Terry's head into a metal post, leaving him barely conscious. He was later treated in hospital.

John Terry, 29, was said to be 'stunned and upset' by the attack.

'Ted suffered a nasty wound to the back of his head that required a lot of stitches,' a family friend told The Sun.

'He is upset he was attacked by so-called football fans purely because his son plays for a rival team. John is also very shocked about what has happened.'

It is thought that the fans recognised Mr Terry, an unemployed forklift driver, because of publicity he received earlier this year after he received a suspended sentence for supplying cocaine.

'British Transport Police is investigating the assault of a 56-year-old man at Upminster station at around 10pm on Saturday, 6 November,' said a British Transport Police spokesman.

'Enquiries into the matter are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police.

'BTP are appealing for anyone with any information to contact us and we would particularly like to speak to a man described as white, in his early 30s and of stocky build. He was wearing a navy blue Fred Perry shirt and a white and blue Tottenham Hotspur scarf wrapped around his hand.'
