WE AIM TO PROVE OURSELVES IN ANOTHER IMPORTANT GAME

After a good performance and a good result against Everton on Saturday, we are back at the Bridge again tonight for an important Champions League game.

This will be the first time we have played Genk, but we know they are champions of Belgium and that they got a draw against Valencia in the first game of the group stage. On Saturday, Everton came here and organised themselves well; but we were patient, played our game and kept pushing forward in numbers and moving the ball well. We were pleased with the performance and the result.

Studge and Rami are playing really well and scoring for us - Studge is pushing hard for an England call-up with his recent performances and I hope Rami will be okay to play tonight after coming off in the second half on Saturday. Also, Juan Mata is getting into some great positions and has shown he is able to produce that bit of magic to find the final ball that makes the difference for us.

It was important to close the gap on Man United to one point, with them drawing at Liverpool, and we need to keep putting the pressure on both teams above us in the league, especially with the Manchester derby coming up this Sunday. We have a derby of our own to win if we are going to keep that pressure up at the weekend. It's great to have another local rivalry this season and, with QPR having been outside the top flight for 15 years before this season, that will add to the occasion on Sunday.

Tonight is all about the Champions League, though, and we have an important group stage game. We want to make sure of qualification from the group stage as early as possible and to top the group as well. Genk will want to come here and make their mark on the competition, to prove something. It is up to us to make sure that we take control of the game like we did against Everton, remain focused throughout and come away with a good win.

Finally, I want to mention the home support on Saturday. We love it when the supporters in the different stands compete with each other and the "Give us a song" chants are brilliant. It's appreciated by the players and your backing never goes unnoticed, so thank you and keep it up.

Come on the Chels!
